About And Donations

This Danville Kid's Layout project was started in 2005 by Church member and volunteer Bob Bomboy (who became a Loose Ties member in Dec 2006). His purpose is to expose kids to building and operating an O gauge model railroad layout -- including kids who might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience model railroading.

Bob Bomboy began this project in 2005 using the trains from his own personal layout. Recently he has begun soliciting donations to equip this Kid's Layout with donated trains, so that he can keep his own trains at home on his layout, rather than having to continuously lug them back and forth. For example, the 2-8-0 steam engine you see in these photos, and the A-A diesel Sante Fe passenger train you see in the video, are Bob's own trains.
